Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how EzGym (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the EzGym iOS app and related services. EzGym is a simple workout app for iPhone.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, and authentication details. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple identity token and related identifiers (such as Apple’s subject identifier). If you choose to hide your email with Apple, we receive Apple’s private relay address instead of your personal email.
If you register with email and password, we store a hashed password. We do not store passwords in plain text.
Workout and schedule data
We store your weekday workout plans, exercise names, logged strength sets (reps, weight, unit), and logged cardio efforts (type, duration, distance, optional heart rate, timestamps) so the app can show Today, Schedule, Progress, and exports for your account.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
With your permission, EzGym may read and write certain workout-related data through Apple’s HealthKit framework:
- Cardio: EzGym may write cardio workouts to Apple Health and may read related cardio data to keep your logs in sync.
- Strength: Strength workouts and strength sets stay in EzGym’s application database. EzGym does not write strength workouts to Apple Health.
Health data accessed through HealthKit is used only to provide fitness and workout features you request. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or data sale. Access is controlled by iOS system permissions; you can revoke Health access in iOS Settings at any time.
Device and technical data
Our servers may automatically receive standard technical information such as IP address, timestamps, and app or API request metadata needed to operate and secure the service.
2. Where your data is stored
Account and workout data for signed-in users are stored on our backend hosted on Laravel Cloud. Local on-device storage may also hold session tokens and temporary or cached data for offline and performance use.
3. How we use information
- Provide and improve EzGym features (schedule, logging, sync, export)
- Authenticate you (including Sign in with Apple)
- Respond to support requests
- Maintain security and prevent abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Sharing and selling
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share HealthKit data with third parties for advertising or data brokerage.
We may use infrastructure providers (such as hosting) that process data only to run EzGym on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service.
5. Retention
We keep account and workout data while your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify associated personal data from our systems within a reasonable time, except where we must retain limited records for legal, security, or accounting reasons.

6. Children
EzGym is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Your choices
- Revoke HealthKit access in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices
- Sign out or stop using the app
- Request account or data deletion via Support
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of EzGym after an update means you accept the revised policy.
